	Panasonic has designed a fan to meet the task of venting with the utmost in energy efficiency. The low sone (noise) level and low input wattage allow these fans to run continuously and quietly. This is not true of the typical ceiling fan which typically runs at 3 to 4 sones (one sone is roughly equal to the sound of a new refrigerator) while using considerably more electricity. This means that a 80 CFM (cubic feet/minute) fan can be hard-wired to run day and night and use less energy than a 60 watt light bulb left on for 7 hrs. Because this fan is quiet, rated for continuous use and a low-energy user, the Airetrack or Tork controls (see Ventilation Controls section) can be used to turn the Panasonic into more of a whole house fan. All fans come with a build in backdraft damper and white metal grill. Only the two speed model comes with a wall switch.The smaller standard depth ceiling fans, up to the 110 cfm, will not perform at their best if installed in a wall. The larger fans, along with the Whisperfit can be installed in either a wall or ceiling. All of the Panasonic fans can be used with a solid state speed control. 	Temperature gradients occur when there is minimal air movement within a room. Hot air generated either by the building's furnace or the heat of the sun typically rises to the ceiling . If the thermostat is set to maintain a comfortable temperature at the floor level, the temperature will typically rise between .5 and 1 degree per vertical foot as it heads towards the upper levels of the room. The Airius is designed to efficiently and silently move large quantities of hot ceiling air down to the floor level. 	When summer heat builds up in the attic, it makes for a hot house. The solution; use night-time air to push heat out of the attic as well as the rest of your home. Open windows in the cool of the evening, turn on the HV, and let the cool air wash through the house, flow into the attic and exit through your pre-existing vents. Typical whole house fans are extremely noisy, use alot of electricity, are expensive to maintain, and leave a big, uninsulated hole in the attic floor. A better idea, the Tamarack HV whole house fan installs between the joists in the attic floor. 	The Tamarack Ghost is the next step in whole house ventilation. It combines ease of installation with energy efficiency in a remarkably quiet whole house fan. When it is cooler outside than inside, turn on the fan to flush the hot air out of your home and clear out the overheated attic at the same time. The ghost mounts inbetween the attic rafters either 16" or 24" on center. Internal motorized and insulated doors open into the fan chamber when the unit is turned on. The doors close over the opening when the fan is off, so that the opening remains insulated. The fan comes with a two speed, radio frequency remote control. High speed (68 decibals) is 2800 cfm's. 	Panasonic Spot/Whole House ERV
	All Panasonic ventilation fans combine energy efficiency and quiet operation. The new WhisperComfort spot ERV fan series uses two ducts -- one to exhaust stale air and the other to supply fresh air from outside. Its low-rate, continuous run helps ensure that volatile organic compounds (VOCs) and other chemical and biological indoor air pollutants are vented out and replaced with fresh air. WhisperComfort technology provides a continuous, low-rate balance airflow to help improve indoor air quality. When air is brought in from the outside, the capillary core inside the WhisperComfort fan transfers heat and moisture to the supply air. This exchange both tempers the supply air coming in from outdoors and transfers moisture to maintain a comfortable indoor living environment. The American Society of Heating, Refrigerating, and Air Conditioning Engineers (ASHRAE) set a standard for whole house ventilation, requiring that continuous mechanical ventilation be 7.5 cubic feet per minute (CFM) per bedroom plus 1 CFM per 100 square feet. Panasonic WhisperComfort ERV fans are an affordable, efficient way to meet this ventilation standard. Since the WhisperComfort is a spot ERV, it can be installed in the ceiling of a single room or in common hallway, allowing for a whole-house ventilation system that meets the ASHRAE 62.2 standards to improve indoor air quality. 	The Mitsubishi core of this product is an engineered composite resin partition plate. Fresh incoming air is pulled into this core and preheated or precooled, depending on the season. An equal amount of stale room air is exhausted at the same time, creating a balanced system. As opposed to an HRV (Heat recovery ventilator)in winter, an ERV exchanges moisture as well as heat. The core works to prevent indoor humidity levels from becoming too dry or too humid by the partial transfer of water vapor. 	The Fantech In-line fan is designed to be installed between sections of round duct. This remote installation insures a low sound level at the grill. Indoors, the fan is usually installed in the attic with ductwork leading to a bathroom ceiling grill from one end of the fan, and ductwork leading to an outdoor roof or sidewall vent coming from the opposite end. Because the housing is made of Noryl plastic, the fan can also be mounted in outdoor (above ground) and wet locations. 	The Fan-Attic is a self contained unit that can be placed on the roof, and be fully operational within an hour. Installation consists of mounting the flashing over a 13" diameter hole cut through the roof sheathing. An 11-watt photovoltaic module integrated into the fan's cover generates continuous power supply to an efficient, low voltage fan motor. Because the fan uses no electricity (and doesn't require an electrician for installation) the unit pays for itself in a short time. The fan works slower in early morning and late afternoon hours. During the hottest part of the day, when the most circulation is needed, the solar panel produces its highest output.This allows the Fan-Attic to remove 600 to 800 cubic feet per minute (cfm's) of air. 	Most bedrooms do not include an air return to the furnace or air conditioner. The resulting build up of air pressure means that the HVAC system is working harder than it should. Undercutting the bedroom door provides too small an air pathway. A better idea, install the RAP in the bedroom wall.
