What is special about the Santa Fe?
1. All of the other brands that we have found, even those containing a defrost feature, do not recommend operation below 65 or 70 degrees. Many rooms, especially basements, often get down to colder temperatures. To eliminate dust mites and mold relative humidity must be lower than 50%. The Santa Fe can operate in temperatures as low as 55 degrees and still keep the relative humidity between 45-50%.
2. The Santa Fe also adds a little heat to the basement air. So a cold, damp basement becomes a little warmer and a lot drier. Your basement won't feel or smell like a basement!
3. The Santa Fe removes 100 pints of water / day, three times as much as a standard dehumidifier. This water is directed through the gravity drain hose to a floor drain. The hose can be extended using 1/2" pvc pipe. A condensate pump kit is available if gravity draining is not an option.
4. They are free standing, plug in units, requiring no installation.
5. They are E-star rated
The Santa Fe model comes as either a basement utility-type unit, or the quieter RX model with a more finished appearance for in-room applications. The Basment unit is 20" wide x 36" high x 17" deep, 110 pounds. Applicable for areas up to 2500 square feet.
